My husband and I got married almost nine years ago. When we got married, making dinner consisted of dumping dinner out of a box or a bag. Nothing was made from scratch and almost everything was completely processed. You could say that we’ve come a long way since then!
Such a long way, in fact, that there are things that my family can tell instantly if I have not made it myself. This pizza sauce is one of those items. I “cheated” the other night and used a jar of sauce. My husband and kids called me out about it as soon as they tasted dinner. They wanted this sauce instead! It’s so easy to make, but I didn’t have the tomato paste on hand, so I had to use a jar! Never again! :)
Quick and Easy Pizza Sauce
-1 6 ounce can tomato paste
-1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
-2 teaspoons dried basil
-1 teaspoon dried oregano
-1/2 teaspoon onion powder
-1/2 teaspoon sugar
-1-2 cloves of minced garlic (depending on how much garlic you like!)
Mix all of these ingredients together. Use immediately or let refrigerate to allow the flavors to combine until you are ready to use!
I use this sauce for many different things….pizza sauce, dipping sauce for breadsticks or mozzarella sticks, and sauce to dip a calzone into just to name a few! It’s definitely made its way into my most used recipes!
