Sriracha Beer Cheese Sauce

In staying with the theme of my husband’s man crush, here’s another recipe that I have adapted from The Sandwich King.  The cole slaw recipe that I have from the same episode has been a hit with the people that I have made it for!

I have great ideas for this beer cheese sauce…it’s deliciously spicy (you know I love spicy stuff!) and is the perfect addition to many meals!  I added this to nachos and let me tell you, it kicked the taste of nachos up a notch.  They were awesome!

Sriracha Beer Cheese Sauce (adapted from Jeff Mauro)

-3 Tablespoons butter

-3 Tablespoons flour

-1/2 cup milk

-3/4 cup lager beer

-1 teaspoon sriracha

-1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese

Melt the butter in a medium pan.  Add the flour and whisk together for about 5 minutes.  After 5 minutes, add the milk and beer.  Whisk the mixture.  Simmer until the sauce thickens.  When sauce thickens, add sriracha and cheese.  Remove from heat. Stir until the cheese has melted.  Add salt and pepper to taste.

I can see this sauce on fries, burgers, broccoli, and basically anything that you can add cheese to!

We are off to enjoy this beautiful day at the pool!  I have two very excited little ones…they are ready for some swim time and a picnic!  It’s one of their favorite things to do!  What is your favorite summer activity?

I hope you have a fabulous Thursday!
