Any time that I can cook chicken in nugget form, my kids are in.
As soon as I saw the recipe for these nuggets, I knew that they’d be a hit at our house. Not only are they a hit with the kiddos, they are also a hit with the grown ups!
Every time we make this, The Good Eats Guy and I act like little kids fighting over the nuggets. It’s not a pretty sight. And the honey mustard sauce…just give me a straw to slurp it out of the container. It’s that good.
Copycat Chick Fil-A-Nuggets with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
For the nuggets….(from Iowa Girl Eats)
-2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-1/4 cup pickle juice
-3/4 cup milk
-1 egg
-1 1/4 cup flour
-2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
-2 teaspoons salt
-1 teaspoon pepper
-Peanut oil for frying
For the honey mustard sauce….(slightly adapted from Table for Two)
-1/2 cup mayonaise
-2 Tablespoons yellow mustard
-2 Tablespoons honey
-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-1 Tablespoon white wine vinegar
-a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper
Cut chicken breast into nugget sized pieces. Place them in a gallon size plastic bag with a zip closure. In a separate bowl, mix milk, pickle juice, and egg. Pour into gallon bag with the chicken. Allow to marinate for 2-4 hours.
When you are ready to cook, mix flour, powdered sugar, salt, and pepper in a gallon size zipper bag. Using a pair of tongs, take marinated chicken out of the marinade and drop into flour mixture. Zip closed. Shake to coat all of the chicken.
Heat the peanut oil in your pan. Fry the nuggets until they are beautifully browned and done in the middle.
Allow to rest on a paper lined plate. Serve with honey mustard dipping sauce.
You won’t regret it. And remember to bring a straw…you are going to want to finish the rest of the dipping sauce when the nuggets are gone. :)

These look great! I’d probably dip mine in buffalo-ranch, though. It’s my latest obsession!
oh man, these look so good. i would definitely slurp up the extra dipping sauce too.
Yum, I bet my girls would gobble these right up too!
