It’s Saturday. The sun was shining. And if you didn’t step outside, you’d have thought that it was a beautiful summer day!
Instead of being fabulously warm, it was just a pretty decent spring day and after the snow that we had yesterday, I’ll take it!
We decided that today was the perfect day to pretend that it was the middle of summer and grill! Okay, who am I kidding…we grill all of the time, but we cooked what I would call a definite summer meal!
Here’s what dinner looked like while cooking!
The Good Eats Guy made some burgers and I figured out the potatoes and beans!
I boiled the potatoes for about 15 minutes just to soften them up a little bit. I let them cool and then I cut them in sixths. I tossed them with olive oil, Lawry’s, and garlic powder. Then, to the grill they went!
I stuck these on the grill and let the grillmaster at our house finish them with the burgers. I usually have nothing to do with the grill…but I needed to see what the hype was all about and what my husband is so in love with! He has a reason to be so infatuated…the new grill is way better than the old one!!
Look at these grill marks! Ahhhhh!
I had never made potatoes like this before! They were pretty awesome! We will be eating these again for sure!
This was a meal that made me want to sit on the patio and have dinner (still too breezy and chilly for that!), but I am officially ready for the summer!
We also created a sauce for these burgers, but it wasn’t perfect enough to share. We will be replicating this meal again until we get the sauce right and then I will share with you!
Tonight we watched Due Date.
I’m not gonna lie…I think my expectations were WAY too high for this movie. I thought it was kind of boring and not as funny as I thought it would be. It didn’t wrap up the different story lines. We were both disappointed!
Have you seen this movie? What did you think?
I hope you were able to enjoy your Saturday!
Any big Sunday plans?
I think we are going to watch baseball and hang out!
