A nice little Saturday…

Yesterday morning we headed to the outlet mall near us.  I was in desperate need of some retail therapy and a dress for my cousin’s wedding next month!

So, we started the morning with a Starbuck’s run because we were out of K-cups for the Keurig and didn’t have any regular coffee either!  It was a tragedy….and always is when that happens!

It was a Skinny Vanilla Latte for me.  And I think that’s what the Good Eats Guy went with too!

Then we were off to shop!  I successfully found  a dress for the wedding and a few other essentials!  I can’t wait for this weather to warm up so I can start wearing them!  If I was more organized, I’d have taken a picture of the dress, but I haven’t!  It’s pink….I’ll post pics after the wedding!  I also shopped for the little people that live in my house….they needed a start to their spring wardrobes!

Where is your favorite place to shop?

After we shopped, we were STARVING since it was way past lunch time, so we headed to the nearest Giordano’s for lunch!  My husband had never eaten here before, so we thought it was a neccessity!

We started off with the spinach artichoke dip…AMAZING!

And had one of these guys…

I have deep love for Goose Island’s 312 and their Summertime!

We went with the stuffed pizza with pepperoni, green peppers, and black olives!

YUM!  I had a piece and a half and then felt like I couldn’t move!  Stuffed pizza is super tasty, but it’s SO filling!

Such a great way to spend lunch on a Saturday!  The restaurant wasn’t very busy, so it was nice and relaxing!

After that we stopped by the local Trader Joe’s to stock up on some neccessities!  I don’t get to frequent TJ’s as often as I’d like, so when we go, I tend to go a bit crazy!  Look for my new finds from there in my recipes this week!  I’ve got some AWESOME plans!   I may have the opportunity to go to TJ’s again in a few weeks….

What are some of your TJ’s favorites that I need to make sure I’ve tried?!

We spent the day today cleaning, doing laundry and watching Kansas lose their basketball game.  :(

I hope you’ve had a fabulous weekend!

  1. Im obsessed with Trader Joe’s. We dont have them in Canada, so whenever I head down to the States, I go crazy. Its so worth it though. :)

  2. My all time favorite TJ’s treat is white chocolate peppermint pretzels. They’re only around in December- I am counting the days til I see them again :)

  3. We eat too much of that pizza in Chicago haha! My favorite place to shop is definitely Express. They make their jeans in “short” so I don’t have to get them altered! :)

What a nice day :) I don’t mind being out of coffee when Starbucks is involved!! Glad you found a dress- that always stresses me out. And the food looks yummy. I’m not sure I’ve ever had stuffed pizza? Our Favorites from TJs: their pop chips, raw unsalted almond butter, 100 calorie dark chocolate sticks, Josh loves their buffalo burgers, flat breads, sesame seed coasted cashews, Harvest Grains Blend (couscous, orzo, baby garbanzo, red quinoa)

  5. Ohhhhhhh, that spinach dip looks amazing. You would seriously have to roll me outta there!

I TJ’s Orange Mandarin Chicken (frozen section), spinach and artichoke dip (frozen as well and super cheap!), trail mix, yogurts, white pomegranate tea and I am always sure to check out their new arrivals stand.

  6. Black olives have become a new favorite add-in of mine… yum!

Hmmm… TJ’s must haves? I always enjoy the sunflower seed butter, chicken sausage, their cheeses, tortilla chips, the mini peanut butter cups…and so the list goes on… :)

the kalamata olive hummus is SO good! so is their spin-art! we had the mushroom risotto the other week and that was way good too. but most importantly, the crispy crunchy little tiny chocolate chip cookies are my absolute favorite. you can eat bunches of them for 140 calories or something like that. i love TJ’s and iowa city doesn’t have one : (

IC needs one! Have you been to the one in Des Moines yet?! I bought those exact cookies yesterday…they are a must have every time I go!

mmm… I’m a huge fan of spinach artichoke dip, and that stuffed pizza looks amazing! I don’t have a TJ’s near me. :(

  9. Um a few things.
We bought a Keurig and I don’t know if we got a lemon, or bought bad coffee, but I hated the taste of any coffee it brewed. :( It’s going back pronto, and my beloved BUNN is being put to good work again.
I love TJs! But don’t go super often. I love their olive oils, Oyster crackers, chicken sausages, tortilla chips, almond butter, and Charles Shaw wine! Such a random list. :)

Oh, no! I’m so sorry that you hated your Keurig!

My carts are always totally random at TJ’s…and there is usually some Charles Shaw in the cart also!

  10. Oh I love Giordano’s! I went this past summer and just about fell over, the pizza was perfect.
Trader Joe’s….hmmm…what don’t I buy there? I love their hummus, frozen fruit, MidEast Feast (falafel and pita), aaaand…how inexpensive their organic produce is!

    Pizza + beer = delicious!

I think I love everything at TJs. big bags of cheap sweet potatoes, trek mixes, peanut butter, quinoa. I could go on…

oh my gosh that pizza looks so good! i love TJ’s and usually try to get my spices and nuts from there – same thing at other stores but SO much cheaper!

  13. That stuffed pizza looks amazing!!

Ok, TJ’s favorites: dried mango, mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, macadamias, pistachios), Greek yogurt, roasted red pepper pizza, white cheddar & shells macaroni, sunflower butter, Joe-Joe’s cookies, flavored sparkling water, gummy bears – seriously, I could go on!
