Stew-pendous!!

I’d like to thank the Good Eats Guy for the cheesy title today!  :)

I woke up this morning way to early (AGAIN) to  a 3 year old that  would like to be called “Princess Mommy” who would yell at me everytime I called her by her name.  I tried to explain to her that her daddy and I spent LOTS of time trying to figure out a name for her, but she wasn’t having it.  She’d like to be called Princess Mommy for now.  Since our morning was so interesting, I made great friends with this guy!

After I had my coffee and breakfast, I needed to start dinner.  Yup.  At 9 this morning. :)  I had a recipe that took 8 hours in the crock pot!

I got this magazine in the mail the other day and didn’t have to go any further than the cover to know that I had to have both the bread and stew from the cover this weekend.

What’s your favorite food magazine?

Neither of the recipes disappointed.

I made slow cooker stew.  I did exactly as it said…I did add a few extra shakes of pepper because I love the stuff!  It simmered away for 8 hours and was absolutely perfect!

It was nice and hearty which the Good Eats Guy liked as he’s not a soup fan!  He did request that I make it a bit thicker next time though!

Along with some Tomato Herb Foccacia, this was a great meal!

I have big plans for this bread as a pizza crust and as bread to use for paninis!!

This was a great, filling, comfort food on a cold night kind of meal!

Ahhhh!!

What’s your favorite comfort food?

In other news, we are supposed to get hit with a snowstorm this week.  We’ll see what happens.  I could really go for a snow day, but I really don’t want to have to make the school day up at the end of  the year!

Now to watch some Food Network and relax!!

Have a great night!
