A Pasta Success Story…

My day started at 5:15 this morning with two little girls who could not stop talking!

Thank goodness for coffee.

As I was drinking my coffee and trying to get our day started, I think I heard some version of the word mom out of the girls’ mouths for two hours straight.

In fact, at one point I walked into the living room and my husband was chuckling at his iPad.  He was watching this as he thought it mirrored my life at the moment…

Mom…Mom…MOMMY!

Now, I was being much more patient than Lois was, but that’s what it sounded like.  My husband thought it was hilarious!

We spent the day watching football, playing games and cleaning a bit!

Then I started to make dinner!

All I can say about dinner is WOW, WOW, WOW!!

I was looking for something different than the norm and was searching for a recipe that included seafood and pasta.  I came across this recipe from the Pioneer Woman.  I’m not going to re-type it because I followed her directions EXACTLY as they were written.  Okay, I take that back…I forgot the bottle of wine at the store and had to use chicken broth and my store didn’t have basil, so I had to go without!  I also cheated and bought shrimp that were already skinned and deveined because doing that seemed like WAY to much work!  Other than that, I did exactly as she said!  :)

I’ll just show you my pictures!!

All I can say is make this.  SOON.  You won’t be sorry.  And it was stinkin’ easy to make!

I’m not  kidding you.  You should make this.  It was that good!!!

Even my small children were asking for me.  All in all, I call that a success!

Isn’t it fun when something sounds great in a recipe and turns out tasting great, too?!

I also made the breadsticks!  BUT in my excitement after tasting the pasta sauce, I completely forgot to take pics of them as they were coming out of the oven.  I’m going to work on perfecting that recipe and I’ll get it to you!  :)

I hope that you had a great weekend!  I’m pretending today is Saturday because I have tomorrow off!

Off to finish watching the Golden Globes…I love seeing what everyone is wearing!  There have already been some great wins and some pretty dresses!!  Who was your favorite?!?!

Have a great night!

  3. I have to admit: I have yet to try shrimp and actually love it. My husband adores all things seafood, and this recipe does look good (I must confess), so I might just have to give it a shot!
