I’m gonna make it!

It’s official…I’m going to make it to the end of the week without going to the store!!!  Wahoo!!   However, if I don’t go on Saturday morning we will be eating flour and sugar and ketchup because there will be no eggs or milk or meat or veggies to make anything!

Dinner tomorrow night has to include chicken because that’s all the meat I have left in the freezer!  We’ll see what I come up with!

My day was spent doing this…

I think that the Little Miss and I did every puzzle that we own!

As the day went on, I was really uninspired about what I was going to make for dinner tonight.  As I was perusing blogs today and saw Ashley’s taco salads and I instantly knew that is what I had to have for dinner!

I browned some ground turkey and then whipped up this taco seasoning….

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Mix this up and add with 1/2-3/4 c. of water to browned meat and let it simmer until it thickens!  It’s my go to taco seasoning….I don’t remember the last time I bought a packet!

I ended up with a salad that looked like this!  I had a few multigrain Food Should Taste Good chips on the side!

YUM!

Kidney beans worked as an excellent substitute for the black beans I wanted and didn’t have!  The only other thing I didn’t have that I wanted were black olives!  This was definitely a win-win!

I’m off to put laundry away quick before Grey’s is on!

Has anyone seen any good movies out on DVD lately? I think that we might need a movie or two over the weekend!

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!  YAY!!
